Kenin Secures Spot in Round of 16

No. 4 seed Sofia Kenin cruised past Romanian Irina Bara 6-2, 6-0 in the third round to advance to the fourth round at Roland Garros for the second consecutive year. After dropping the first two games of the match, Kenin stormed back and won 12-straight games to win the match in convincing fashion. The American hit 34 winners in the match.

After the match Kenin said, “I’m really happy with how it went. Towards the end, I was like, I kind of want to get to 12-0 games.” With the win, Kenin secures a fourth round or better finish at each of the last three Grand Slams.

In the fourth round, Kenin will face either Fiona Ferro or Patricia Maria Țig.
